We realize that our student body is experiencing a period of transition and strive to broaden the scope of the curriculum to reflect the abilities, interests, and educational needs of each student.  We strive to work together with students, parents, and the community to make Lunenburg Middle School “A GREAT PLACE TO LEARN.”

LMS Volleyball Tryouts

...will begin on Monday July, 31st at the LMS gym from 8:30-10:30 AM.  Girls must have a VHSL physical prior to being allowed to try-out. 

Congratulations Blue Devils Softball and Baseball on a Great Season!

On April 20th, the Lady Blue Devils defeated Amelia in a double header 4-3 and 12-3.  The winning pitcher in game 1 was C. Lewis and in game 2 it was K. Barton.  K. Barton also hit an over the fence homerun in game 2. Scoring in both games:  4 runs-A. Rinaldo, 3 runs-K. Barton, M. Nash, 2 runs- C. Lewis, 1 run-A. Hoover, E. Dolchan, M. Moore, and C. Bayne.  Congratulations!

Yesterday the Lady Blue Devils defeated Cumberland 17-6.  Saving pitcher was C. Lewis.  Scoring 4 runs-K. Barton, scoring 2 runs-M. Nash, C. Lewis, C. Bayne, A. Rinaldo, scoring 1 run-A. Crawley, K. Sullivan, E. Dolchan, M. Moore, and A. Hoover.  Season record is 5 wins and 4 losses.  Congratulations for a winning season!

The LMS baseball team defeated Cumberland yesterday afternoon 14-3 in the season finale.  J. Elliott struck out six batters in 5 innings for the win.  O. Green had 4 RBIs while J. Elliott had 3 RBIs.  B. Currin and E. Currin each added 2 RBIs.  D. Ball, S. Currin, and C. Estes scored 2 runs each.  M. Strigel, O. Green, and J. Elliott each had a double offensively while leading the team to a season high with 10 hits and 6 walks.  The baseball team finished the season with 2 wins and 7 losses.

The Lady Blue Devils defeated the Cumberland Dukes 25-1 on April 5.  The winning pitcher was K. Barton giving up only 3 hits with 7 strike outs.  Scoring 5 runs K. Barton, 4 runs M. Nash, C. Bayne, M. Moore, 2 runs E. Dolchan, A. Hoover, K. Sullivan, 1 run R. Harris, C. Lewis.  The team recorded 8 hits, C. Bayne 3 RBIs, A. Hoover, A. Crawley, R. Harris, 2 RBIs, K. Barton, E. Dolchan, and K. Sullivan 1 RBI.  Congratulations! Next game is Thursday, April 20th in Amelia.

The LMS baseball team earned their first victory of the season on April 5 defeating Cumberland 15-5.  O. Green pitched a complete game while striking out 8 batters.  M. Strigel led the offense with three hits and three RBIs.  E. Currin, B. Currin, J. Elliott, and C. Estes each had two hits.  E. Currin had three RBIs, J. Elliott added two RBIS, J. Inman, L. Ashworth, O. Green, S. Currin, D. Ball, and D. Simmons added one hit each.  Next game is Wednesday, April 19th against Kenston Forest at home.

LMS Forensics Team Shines at this Year's Competition

The LMS Forensics team performed beautifully at this year's competition!  Drama won 1st place with Lindsay Price's "The Snow Show," directed by Mrs. Brenda Wade. Jakira Keaton won 1st place in Prose with a perfect score of 300. Emily Zuniga-Leon won 3 place in Poetry.

Congratulations to the Lady Blue Devils!

The Lady Blue Devils defeated Central Middle School, Wednesday, January 25, with a score of 36-16.  C. Tate led all scorers with 11 points.  A. Crawley and M. Nash added 8 points and 6 points respectfully.  M. Alexander chipped in with 4 points.  M. Moore, M. Reese, and M. Blowers each dropped in 2 points and M. Williams rounded out the scoring with 1 point.  The Blue Devils now have 6 wins and 2 losses.  Next game is Monday, January 30 at home against Cumberland.

Lunenburg Middle School (LMS) Wins Top Spot in the 2016-2017 Southside Middle School Conference ACE Competition

  • The Lunenburg Middle School Academic Competition for Excellence (ACE) Team concluded their season on November 7, 2016.  The final meet was held at Prince Edward Middle School. This meet featured the top 6 teams in points going head to head against each other.  The LMS team battled hard and won three of the five matches. The Blue Devils finished off the season in the top spot, taking home the trophies for Most Wins and Most Points.  Overall points standings for the Southside Middle School Conference for ACE for the year were as follows:  Lunenburg - 2849 points; Park View - 2747 points; Amelia - 2651 points; Bluestone  - 2560 points; Halifax - 2493 points; and Prince Edward - 2468 points. 

Florida Citrus

  • Back by popular demand!  Lunenburg Middle School is selling Florida Citrus from November 1, 2016 through November 18, 2016 with an estimated delivery date around December 16, 2016. Actual delivery date will be announced closer to delivery. The fundraiser will assist with student initiatives and reward our dedicated faculty/staff who work every day to promote academic excellence and achievement.

Congratulations to the LMS ACE Team

  • in the second round of competition on October 17, LMS finished the night with 3 wins and 1 loss and scored 822 points. After two rounds, LMS is in first place in points with 1890. The final competition will be on November 7, 2016. Good luck in the final round!

Congratulations to the Lady Blue Devils Volleyball Team

  • who tied with Bluestone for second place in the East.  The team will play at Amelia High School this Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.

Expository Essay Contest
7th Grade Students at Lunenburg Middle School

E. C. Thompson Alliance of Ministers’ Wives and Ministers’ Widows of Kenbridge, Blackstone & Vicinity sponsored an Essay Contest for 7th graders entitled, “What is it Like to be a 7th Grader?” Many excellent essays were entered. Winners of the contest were First Place, Kayla Foster; receiving a $100 prize; Second Place, Katelyn Sadler, $75 prize; and Third Place, Anastasia Howells, $50 prize. Congratulations to the winners and to all students who entered the contest.

LMS Fundraiser Stars Are Wisked Away in a Limo

Students at LMS had a fundraiser in order to collect money to go toward student incentives, initiatives, and the annual honor roll trip in the spring.  Students selling 15 items or more were eligible for a limousine ride to Pizza Hut in Blackstone, where they enjoyed a delicious lunch.  Images of these excited students!

Congratulations to the LMS ACE Team!

The LMS 2016 ACE Team had their first meet on September 26th at Prince Edward Middle School. After four rounds of competition, the LMS team is first in points. Top scorers for the team were E. Currin with 390 points, S. Strigel with 215, and B. Currin with 105. Next meet is October 17th.
