CHS Seniors, don't forget to get your senior orders to Herff Jones!

LCPS will operate on a two hour delay today, Tuesday, February 28, 2023, due to dense fog. 12 month employees report two hours late as well.

In honor of Black History Month, the Central High School jazz band was invited to play for the residents in The Hundley Center and patients, visitors, and caregivers at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital. Our students did a great job!

Congratulations to the newest inductees of the Central High School Macon F. Fears Chapter of the National Honor Society. Mr. Stephen Day, Director of Economic Education at Virginia Commonwealth University visited Mr. Buchanan’s marketing classes today to present awards to the fall Stock Market game state winners. Mr. Day also spent time showing students how to research stocks. The spring competition kicked off on February 3rd.
Mr. Day talked about entrepreneurship and walked students through a guided activity. He showed them how to register their new business in Virginia. He discussed the importance of young entrepreneurship in local communities. Another awards ceremony will take place later in the spring at the Richmond Federal Reserve Bank.

Congratulations to Todd Williams of Kenbridge who won the 50” smart TV from the George Sunbury Scholarship fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets in support of this worthwhile cause. We are able to continue awarding scholarships to graduating seniors in Mr. Sunbury’s memory this spring.

Congratulations Mr. Burke! VFW Teacher of the Year - 3rd Place - High School--

CHS Marketing students visited the Lunenburg Animal Shelter this week. They spent time with the dogs by walking and playing with them. Each class is sponsoring a dog and creating flyers for social media in hopes of finding a loving family to adopt the dog. Our principal, Mrs. Howell, joined in on the fun too. Over 70 students participated in this rewarding and special day.

Over the last two weeks, two members of our CHS Web Design Class have been creating a Website for Community Resource Services, a non-profit organization that provides a food pantry and other resources to Lunenburg County.
Credit to Makala M. and Justin B. for donating their time and effort and creating this outstanding final product.
