Mr. Seamster's Economics & Personal Finance classes are very thankful to have had the opportunity to work with Dillon Robinson from Lunenburg County 4-H this week. Mr. Robinson helped us develop resumes and cover letters and prepare for mock Job Interviews. We're also thankful for the members of our community that gave their time to help interview and provide us with constructive criticism. This has been a great learning experience and will benefit us all as we enter the workforce.

Calling all 1992 Central Charger "State Champion" Football team members. Friday, November 18 @ 7 p.m. The 10-0 CHS Varsity Football Team will have their first home playoff game. It has been 30 years since the undefeated season when the 1992 State Champs beat Lebanon @ home 20-6 in the state championship game to claim the title. Come out and support the 2022 Chargers that just won the James River District Championship and completed the first undefeated season for CHS since 1995. It is just like old times in Victoria with the crowds, cheerleaders, large marching band, and winning Chargers! The 2022 Cheerleaders are the West 1A regional champions and finished as state finalists ending up as 4th in the state in the 2A division! The 2022 Marching Band is amazing and has been performing regularly during halftime at Hampden Sydney football games. The 2022 golf team also won the regional championship this fall. The 1992 team will join the player tunnel as the starters are announced and will also be recognized at halftime. Everyone can plan to gather near the end zone initially to mingle with your old teammates. Go Chargers!!! Post-game plans are also being set up… more to come on that. #LetsGoChargers #Charger Pride

Thank you to the Culpeper Police Department for presenting, "Hidden in Plain Sight," for our LMS and CHS parents and guardians last evening. Attendees were treated to a wonderful meal before the program. Officers recreated the bedroom of a teenager and helped parents to identify signs of risky behavior that may go unnoticed to the untrained eye. Parents and guardians were able to go on stage and examine the room close up. The topics of alcohol, marijuana, prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, illicit drugs, vaping, mental disorders, sexual behavior, were covered in the program. Approximately 40 parent and guardians joined us last evening, and we thank them for attending!

Mr. Buchanan's marketing classes are competing in a virtual stock market game with teams from across the state. Each team is comprised of 3-4 students and given $100,000 to buy stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. The prices are aligned with current prices at the NYSE that are affected by the economy and business climate. Currently, in 1st place in the VCU Region out of 55 teams are E. Mathis, C. Burke, D. Stone and R. Allard. They are also ranked 2nd in the state out of 436 teams. Another team at CHS led by M. Lee, J. Morris, L. White and T. Redd is 2nd in the VCU region and 3rd in the state. The competition ends in December.
