Eagle Award Nominations: Call for Submissions
LCPS is excited to recognize outstanding individuals within our school system community each month through the Eagle Award. We invite staff members, parents, students, and community members to nominate representatives in the following categories:
Award Categories:
Administrator
Eligible Candidates: Administrators employed by LCPS, including principals, assistant principals, and central office administrators (directors and coordinators).
Criteria:Demonstrates strong leadership skills and fosters a positive learning environment.
Supports staff, students, and families in meaningful ways.
Promotes academic achievement and upholds LCPS values.
Student
Eligible Candidates: Any student currently enrolled in LCPS from any school, grades Pre-K - 12th.
Criteria:Demonstrates academic improvement or excellence.
Exhibits positive behavior, respect, and responsibility.
Contributes to the school community through participation in activities or leadership.
Certified Employee
Eligible Candidates: Any certified educator or staff member, including teachers, counselors, librarians, and instructional coaches.
Criteria:Demonstrates exemplary teaching practices and dedication to student success.
Actively engages with the school community.
Serves as a role model for colleagues and students.
Classified Employee
Eligible Candidates: Any non-certified support staff, including secretaries, bus drivers, custodians, cafeteria workers, computer technicians, and instructional aides.
Criteria:Consistently goes above and beyond in their role.
Demonstrates a strong work ethic and commitment to the smooth operation of the school.
Provides exceptional service to students and staff.
Nomination Process:
Nominations are due by the 15th of each month. A review committee, composed of school board members, parents, and community members, will meet monthly to evaluate and select awardees based on the nominations and established criteria. The committee will assess nominees based on their contributions to the school community, the impact of their actions, and how they exemplify the mission and vision statement of LCPS, while also considering the diversity of roles and experiences within the district.
Nominations by family members will be excluded due to a conflict of interest.

Recognition:
Winners will be announced at the monthly school board meetings. Each awardee will receive a certificate of recognition and be featured on the division website. Individuals in each category are eligible to win once per school year.
