Superintendent, Lunenburg County Public Schools--
Good morning LCPS Families. With Coronavirus numbers significantly decreasing in the county, Lunenburg County Public Schools decided at its February 8 school board meeting to reopen in a hybrid format. On Tuesday, February 16 orientation will be held for Group A for Pre K, Kindergarten, and 6th Grade. On Wednesday, February 17, orientation will be held for Group B for Pre K, Kindergarten, and 6th Grade. Thursday, February 18 and Friday, February 19, will be virtual days for all students.
Our hybrid format will begin the week of February 22, 2021. On Monday, February 22 and Tuesday, February 23 all grades Group A will come to school. On Wednesday, February 24 and Thursday, February 25 all grades Group B will come to school. Friday, February 26 will be a virtual day for everyone. Students who have chosen to remain virtual will do so. At any given time schools could revert to an all virtual format depending on health data.
Virginia High School League athletic and academic activities will resume Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Southside Middle School Conference will announce more details after a meeting on Friday, February 12, 2021.
