Students at Lunenburg County Public Schools have been able to visit places or events they never thought would be possible at this age as part of a learning program that has been brought to the schools. From parts of Europe, to past events and more the students have been able to add to their classroom instruction with the expansion of Google’s VR education program
The Google Expeditions virtual reality glasses expose students to places they wouldn’t be able to see otherwise. The Expeditions program has distributed the equipment to classrooms and Central High School recently got the equipment so that they can implement this new technology into the learning experience. The Google Expeditions equipment will be shared between the schools so that the students can get to experience this alternative learning method. Students can use the experience in many different classes such as art or history to even using experiences built to give the students a more tactile lesson in mathematics classes.
LCPS is always looking for creative ways to help students learn and make for a great learning environment. By bringing in different methods of learning, it helps create more and different ways for the kids to grasp and understand subject content.
