📢 ATTENTION CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL FAMILIES AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS📢 We are committed to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone at Central High School sporting events. BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 31, 2024, our new Sporting Event Guidelines will be in full effect! These requirements apply to all school sporting events and include the following key points: CLEAR BAG POLICY: Only clear bags and small clutches are permitted. Diaper and medical bags are allowed but will be subject to search. NO PETS ALLOWED: Except for service animals. NO SMOKING OR ALCOHOL: No smoking, vaping, or alcohol on school grounds. MINORS UNDER 16: Must be accompanied by an adult unless they are CHS students. Unaccompanied CHS minors failing to comply with rules may lose future event access. NO RE-ENTRY: Once you enter, re-entry is not allowed. BEHAVIOR: Aggressive or disruptive behavior will result in removal from the event. For the safety and enjoyment of all, we kindly ask that you review and follow these guidelines. LCPS Families--Just a reminder that Tuesday, October 22 is an early release day for students. The middle and high school will dismiss at 12 noon. The two elementary schools will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held that day, Tuesday, October 22 from 2 - 6 p.m. at all schools. LCPS K-3 Students to Bring Home VA Language & Literacy Screeng System Results THIS WEEK K-3 students will be bringing home the results this week from our recent VA Language and Literacy Screening System (VALLSS). This screener replaces the PALS screener that was used in previous years across Virginia. Literacy screeners provide data so that classroom instruction and intervention can be tailored to student needs. Please use this information to help you understand your child's screening results. LCPS announces the retirement of long-time employee, Mary Overby, from her part-time position. Mrs. Overby has served Lunenburg County Public Schools for 58 years. She has served many roles, including School Board Deputy Clerk, School Board Clerk, School Board Office Secretary, and most recently, as LCPS Payroll Clerk, part-time. Mary Lee's last day is this Friday, October 4. We wish Mrs. Overby and her family many years of happiness & good health!
