Lunenburg County Public Schools has been awarded Power User by Major Clarity again this year. Major Clarity is a college and career readiness online platform utilized by Lunenburg County Public Schools students and staff beginning at the elementary level and progressing through the 12th grade. Teachers and Guidance Counselors use this platform to guide students through learning styles and personality assessments which help to develop a fit score for careers. There are over 66 careers in 17 pathways represented in the platform. Students can learn about the educational and job requirements, watch videos of individuals in the field, and also complete activities geared towards the career. Guidance helps students develop their academic and career plans using this resource. Students can also search for information on trade schools, community colleges, and 4-year colleges and universities. There is a resume builder and a work-based learning component. Over 33,000 college scholarships are available on this website and students can apply directly from this site.
Many students at the high school level complete the micro-credentials available here. The micro-credentials are not industry certifications but provide a broad understanding of components such as Employability and Soft skills, Cybersecurity, Virtual Etiquette, Nursing, HVAC, and Software Design.
In order to receive the Power User designation, a school system must meet each of the following criteria during the school year:
â At least 40%+ of all student accounts have been activated this school year (double the perceived CCR seat utilization rate)
â At least 35%+ of those students have returned to their account 2x or more this school year, indicating recurring usage
â Student-to-staff adoption rate of 250:1 or less, measured as a ratio of the number of active students per each active staff member, showcasing strong staff participation
Congratulations Lunenburg County Public Schools!

On Wednesday, April 5th, over 72 students and staff opened their hearts and rolled up their sleeves to donate blood during the American Red Cross Blood Drive held in the gym at CHS. Mr. Hershbergerâs government students promoted and recruited donors over the last several weeks. Government students also volunteered during the blood drive.
In celebration of Spirit Week at CHS, the theme of the day was Be a Hero and donate blood. We have tons of super heroes at LCPS. Over 85% were first-time donors. Thank you to everyone who signed up to be a donor for this worthwhile event. Currently, plans are in the works to have another blood drive in the Fall.

The director of the center talked about internship opportunities available for students while in high school and college.
Students ended their visit with lunch in the campus dining hall. Another highlight of the trip was the students were able to meet and take a picture with President Reveley.
