📚📖Lunenburg County Public Schools is in the process of adopting Reading (Literacy) Textbooks for the elementary schools, grades kindergarten through fifth grade, for the 2024-2025 school year. These textbooks will be available for community review at the Lunenburg County School Board Office from March 5th to March 11th, 2024 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
📚📖Upon review, any family member or citizen with concerns related to these textbooks can submit their written comments. In addition, If you have any questions about the textbook review, please reach out to Dawn Bacon, Director of Elementary Instruction at 434-676-2467, extension 2145.

Code of Virginia Lock-Down Drills § 22.1-137.2. In every public school, there shall be a lock-down drill at least once during the first 20 school days of each school session, in order that students and teachers may be thoroughly practiced in such drills. Every public school shall hold at least two additional lock-down drills after the first 60 days of the school session. Every public school shall provide the parents of enrolled students with at least 24 hours' notice before the school conducts any lock-down drill. Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students shall be exempt from mandatory participation in lock-down drills during the first 60 days of the school session.
Attendance Matters! We are planning two EXCITING END OF THE YEAR EVENTS, one for LMS & CHS, and one for KES & VES!
For students to attend, they CANNOT MISS MORE THAN 10 DAYS OF SCHOOL BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR!

🙂Friday, February 16 is an early release day. Victoria and Kenbridge Elementary will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. Lunenburg Middle and Central High will dismiss at 12:00 noon.
🙂Monday, February 19, ALL schools will be closed in observance of Presidents' Day.
LCPS will operate on a two hour delay today, Monday, February 12, 2024 due to dense fog. Twelve month employees report two hours late as well.
